I know you speak 5 languages, but in my dreams, we speak English!

I got an email about a book fair in China from my publishers, that is taking place this year. Unfortunately my book Gold Digger wont be ready in time to be included. (It's still in its final Edit Process) that, and I'm still waiting on the two options for my covers so I can make the final selection!
I often wonder what my novel would be like translated into another language, not that I would ever be able to read it. I understand a little Italian and poor/fair French. But it would be cool!

Books banned by the government...

I found a list of books that where banned by certain countries governments for various reasons, and thought I would include a few of them for your information. If you would like the full known list I have included the link at the bottom of this post!
Country and Reason for banning - Used to be banned in the province of Hunan, China, beginning in 1931 for its portrayal of anthropomorphized animals acting on the same level of complexity as human beings. The censor General Ho Chien believed that attributing human language to animals was an insult to humans. He feared that the book would teach children to regard humans and animals on the same level, which would be "disastrous
The Canterbury Tales (late 14th century)

Country and Reason for banning - Banned from the U.S. mail
under the Federal Anti-Obscenity Act (Comstock Law) of 1873,
which banned the sending or receiving of works containing "obscene,"
 "filthy," or "inappropriate" material.

John Steinbeck

Country and Reason for banning -Was temporarily banned
in many places in the US. In the region of California in
which it was partially set, it was banned for its alleged
 unflattering portrayal of area residents.

Gustave Flaubert

Country and Reason for banning -Flaubert's novel was banned
and he was prosecuted for offenses against public morals

How I'd like Writing in Heels headquarters to look at some point in the future....

Except for the fact that the carpet isn't pink and there are no high heels in sight -

I would have some sort of display wall accompanying those books that featured all my lovely shoes and a specific area for the heels of the week that would sit prominently near the doorway - oh and I would have some sort of daybed where I could languish and dream and read - okay this picture doesn't really encapsulate any of that but I like the picture - Writing in Heels HQ would be so amazing - One Day Tara - One day!!!!!

I'm reading She's Out of Control by Kristin Billerbeck atm - I'm about halfway through - its pretty good for a light read.

About the Book -

Jurassic Park movie marathon

Yes that's right - its gotten desperate in the movie department at my house, and all I have left that hasn't been watched since I was a kid is Jurassic Park - and not just the first 1 but all 4 of them....

Your probably now thinking hang on a second - they didn't make the 4th one until I was well out of my youth, and you would be right. In a moment of weakness I purchased the special edition pack that comes in not one but two special cases. The first containing the second, that folds out into a dinosaur lovers extravaganza.

Not sure if I can manage to watch all of them tonight - but you can be sure that I will watch all of them, and enjoy myself whilst doing so!

Yes - I truly am that weird!

Where the F are all the posts.....

I couldn't blame you if you came here over the last week and where like - where the fuck are all the posts! I have been a bit MIA lately with all the work I have to get done for a writing project that I have started, so that seems to be taking up all my blogging time and I feel like I am letting Writing in Heels down by not showing it the attention that it deserves. I will dedicate tomorrow to blogging and my social medias - so you can look forward to some funny, if not insightful posts from me for your entertainment, as well as future things I am planning, tid bits about my life, and so on.

See you tomorrow!

Sometimes I need a kick up the behind -

I've been a  little bit lazy today!

  • I would firstly like to blame it on all the alcohol I consumed yesterday and last night - which not only dehydrated me but made me a little bit hazy and dull!

  •  I would secondly like to blame my Best Friend Jodie who did nothing but encourage me to drink double vodka and squashes like a fish with no food in my stomach.

  • And thirdly I would like to blame society (just because I can)
This hangover of sorts was rectified with a lot of food, water, Coca-Cola, and a few movies which is the perfect hangover remedy, however, no actual work got a look in what so ever at any point today except for a few links I shared for my blog in a hopes that I will;

 A) get more views,
B) find more followers,
C) Enlighten budding authors on how to write a book Tara style and
C) Find Someone who is smart enough to have read my blog and decided how awesome I am and has purchased a copy of my new Novel Gold Digger .

Anyway, so it looks like I'll be doing double time tomorrow - which sux because its Friday and Friday is practically the weekend, (so is Monday if you want to get technical) - which does pose the question of how much 1 actual person with no boss or time schedule to stick too, gets any work done in the 4 day window I have given myself.  But that's a whole other blog post!

I bet you didn't know......

When I was thinking of names for this blog I had actually contemplated calling it Tweaky Peaks - but then I realised it would probably be confused for some sort of Pervy boobie site that got you up close and personal with my chest!

Doing today what was suppose to happen yesterday

Finally gotten around to getting yesterday's work done today which is excellent, but today's work will have to be tomorrow and so on - Looks like I'm going to be working all weekend in between the cooking extravaganza that will be happening in and around my kitchen! Oh well at least I have prepared myself in advance so it won't be u Huge Shock when I tell myself what is happening!

They call me Master Chef!

Lately - well more than usual, I have been cooking a lot.
I decided to pull out my recipe books a few weeks ago because I was sick of the sight and taste of everything I had been cooking in my weekly rotations. From appetisers to desserts, you name it I have made it. The Caesar salad I cooked last weekend was phenomenal as was the chocolate moose and everything in between. I've put on 3 kg since I started but I was on the thin side and  could use a few extra cushiony bits so I'm not complaining!

I'm going to dinner at my friends tonight - curry so yum but I've already planned the coming weeks dinners and tempting snacks and will go shopping later today to acquired the necessary ingredients.

The list includes such delights as Croque-Madame, Hot potato salad, Combination fried rice, Monte cristo salad and Sang Choy bow with sweets that include Strawberry triffle. My mouth is already watering!!

Watching reruns of Friends in a men's tshirt with my legs up on the side of the lounge (because I read somewhere that if you elevate your legs above your heart that it prevents varicose veins) instead of doing the reading I am suppose to be doing today. I just ate a pie with sauce in true Aussie style and can't seem to get motivated to do anything now! The weather isn't helping because it is overcast and windy.
I think I can safely say this day is a right off!

Lots of reading.....

I'm actually reading 3 different books at the moment which isn't something I usually do. I like to give my full attention to one book at a time and also so I do get confused. I'm being a book slut maybe? Not completely happy with just the one, I've had to go and start up with two other stories.

Research on a Tuesday

Today I'm have been doing some research for a writing project I'm working on, but I keep getting distracted by cool pictures and funny little articles that have kept me entertained for a good part of the day!  I have however managed to utilise whatever time I wasn't doing what I was suppose to be doing and got what I came for! Trying to work on a Tuesday is like working on a Monday - the weekend is a long way off! I might need a really strong iced coffee to pep me up?

Enlightenment not guaranteed!

There are some pretty messed up reality shows getting around on TV. I've watched plenty of ridiculous people doing a lot of dumb shit, and believe me, my life is not better because of it.

If we keep watching - it wont stop!

How did you sleep Pussy Master?

They were talking about Bad Boys on a morning show I had on in the background today while I was roaming aimlessly around the house in a stupor moments after I had hauled myself out of bed this morning.

A small blip out of Bridgette Jones Diary with Hugh Grant flashes across the screen and then the hosts discuss Hugh as a bad boy in the movie and why women are so attracted to this type of guy. They cross over to a live feed of a physiologist who try's to explain why women are so attracted to someone who is ultimately only going to break their heart, because obviously you will want to get into a relationship with this guy - their game is so good that they regularly fool women like you into partaking in the sexual side of a relationship without somehow getting caught up in the emotional side that you so desperately crave and then just move onto the next unsuspecting woman. Bad boys are bad news according to this learned person and should be avoided at all costs.

Is it wrong that I'm sitting here thinking that at least there is heaps of hot naughty sex happening, and if there wasn't who would get all the men that aren't getting any because they cant or their wives wont through life? If it wasn't for Bad Boys who would these men wish they were? Someone's got to be getting some - I don't think there is anything wrong with bad boys! If I was to end up in a situation where some hot random guy and ~  The elusive 'bad boy' was to proposition me and he just oozed sex appeal I would be totally down for whatever - I wouldn't however be fooled into thinking this was the guy I would end up with. I don't have super powers, more just that I have the common sense to realise that bad boys have one purpose, but no one wants to marry that! All that stress and resentment when they revert back into the thing that attracted you in the first place. Um...no thanks.

Have fun, but be careful!

What are you doing here?

Well hopefully you've come because you like my blog, and you enjoy reading my little stories and thoughts on things, relate to my quirky personality, want to become a writer but don't know where to start, love reading, have bought my book and have ended up here to see who I am and what I represent, or just come across this blog by accident.

What are high heels?

If for some reason you have travelled in time from the dark ages and need to know what a high heel is - I can help you! I found this interesting little exert on Wikipedia and have shared it for your obvious much needed education.

High-heeled footwear (often abbreviated as high heels or simply heels) is footwear that raises the heel of the wearer's foot significantly higher than the toes. When both the heel and the toes are raised equal amounts, as in a platform shoe, it is technically not considered to be a high heel; however, there are also high-heeled platform shoes. High heels tend to give the aesthetic illusion of longer, more slender legs. High heels come in a wide variety of styles, and the heels are found in many different shapes, including stiletto, pump (court shoe), block, tapered, blade, and wedge.
According to high-fashion shoe websites like Jimmy Choo and Gucci, a "low heel" is considered less than 2.5 inches (6.4 centimetres), while heels between 2.5 and 3.5 inches (6.4 and 8.9 cm) are considered "mid heels", and anything over that is considered a "high heel". The apparel industry would appear to take a simpler view; the term "high heels" covers heels ranging from 2 to 5 inches. Extremely high-heeled shoes, such as those exceeding 6 inches, strictly speaking, are no longer considered apparel but rather something akin to "jewellery for the feet". They are worn for display or the enjoyment of the wearer.
Although high heels are now usually worn only by girls and women, there are shoe designs worn by both genders that have elevated heels, including cowboy boots and Cuban heels. In previous ages, men also wore high heels.

Medieval Europeans wore wooden-soled patten shoes, which were ancestors to contemporary high heels. Michelle Reyes, curator at Toronto's Bata Shoe Museum, traces the high heel to horse riders in the Near East who used high heels for functionality, because they helped hold the rider's foot in stirrups. She states that this footwear is depicted on a 9th-century ceramic bowl from Persia.
It is sometimes suggested that raised heels were a response to the problem of the rider's foot slipping forward in stirrups while riding. The "rider's heel", approximately 1 12 inches (3.8 cm) high, appeared in Europe around 1600. The leading edge was canted forward to help grip the stirrup, and the trailing edge was canted forward to prevent the elongated heel from catching on underbrush or rock while backing up, such as in on-foot combat. These features are evident today in riding boots, notably cowboy boots.

Contemporary scene

Since the Second World War, high heels have fallen in and out of popular fashion trend several times, most notably in the late 1990s, when lower heels and even flats predominated. Lower heels were preferred during the late 1960s and early 1970s as well, but higher heels returned in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The shape of the fashionable heel has also changed from block (1970s) to tapered (1990s), and stiletto (1950s, early 1960's, 1980s, and post-2000).
Today, high heels are typically worn, with heights varying from a kitten heel of 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) to a stiletto heel (or spike heel) of 4 inches (10 cm) or more. Extremely high-heeled shoes, such as those higher than 5 inches (13 cm), are normally worn only for aesthetic reasons and are not considered practical. Court shoes are conservative styles and often used for work and formal occasions, while more adventurous styles are common for evening wear and dancing. High heels have seen significant controversy in the medical field lately, with many podiatrists seeing patients whose severe foot problems have been caused almost exclusively by high-heel wear.
The wedge heel is informally another style of the heel, where the heel is in a wedge form and continues all the way to the toe of the shoe

I was on redtube last night having a bit of a look around, lets just call it research lol, and what I found the most interesting was the categories. There are things on there that I had never even heard of let alone tried and then gone ahead and decided to make a amateur movie staring myself. Its all a bit creepy.

The basic stuff was just normal people having sex.  But after searching through most of the more risqué categories and titles, and then viewing about 25 videos (not all the way through) I felt a bit jaded. There are so many different things going on, some pretty average, others just fucking weird and a little bit disturbing and I became a bit numb to the whole thing. I wasn't really turned on by any of it.

Funnily enough I prefer the real thing. Its the same with the Fifty Shades Series - women going nuts - purportedly buying out dildo shops.. me staring at the pages, reading the sex scenes and wondering what the big deal is - there was so many of them that in the end it was like mmmm whatever!

Real sex is way better than watching it, I'm sure most of you will agree. Most viewers of this home girl / guy  type situation would be poor single guys not willing to fork out a joining fee to a reputable porn site, and married men sitting up in the middle of the night having snuck downstairs after their wife had declined their supposed advances, to have a pull over some fat assed busted up skank on redtube who is getting reamed by her boyfriend. (kids probably in the other room trying to go to sleep) He daren't give credit card details over the internet to watch good porn incase he gets caught. so is left with some very average shit going down. But if he'd just made more of an effort to woo his wife or maybe made her cum like he was supposed to instead of getting on and going at her like a jackhammer for 30 seconds, grunting like a caveman and rolling off, then she might be inclined to fuck you next time.

Don't get it twisted - I'm not saying don't get your freak on over porn, but spend a few dollars at an adult store to find something decent and maybe include your wife - or if its not her sort of thing, then keep it for a lonely night but at least you're not watching fap that grosses most people out!
